Bagan is the place for pagodas, famous for having thousands of them scattered around a small area — if you go to the top of any of the taller ones, you can see the structures dotting the landscape for miles in every direction. This golden feature is Shwezigon Paya, in Nyaung-U — reputed to have relics of Gautama Buddha held inside. The images below are from the complex, centering partially around the Burmese Nats, the spirits worshipped in the Buddhist religion in much of Myanmar.
